This video will teach you things like a pool table has 6 pockets / holes, the white ball is called the cue ball and you use this to hit the other balls, and the basic rules of 8 and 9 ball (which you can find on the internet for free). If you read this review, I just saved you $20.

No one can start to learn to play billiards to looking this video... Waste of money.

This dvd was great, exactly what I was looking for. I had purchased a few other how to play pool dvd's and was disappointed because they all teach you how to play pool better. Not this one, this DVD teaches you what it states, the basics. I had never played pool before in my life, and wanted to learn just the basics of the sport as I wanted to be able to go to my local pool hall, socialize, play, meet new people but most importantly, not make a fool out of myself. I wanted a quick fix education on what things are called, what they are used for, the rules of the game (I had no idea there were even several different games with separate rules before this dvd) and this video does exactly that, helps out someone who wants to pick this up as a new activity. I am honestly surprised at some of the other reviews here but I highly suspect they are from people who thought they were buying one of those other how to DVD's that makes a good pool player better. All I have to say is read the box! It says exactly what you get and it delivers! It's exactly geared towards what someone like me needed I can say that, so if you want to learn a quick all around look at the sport of pool and you want to do so in an entertaining way I might add (some how to dvds are so boring, this one is shot like an action movie!) then pick this video up. If you already know how to play pool well and don't need an education on the basics, and if you cannot take the time to read whats on the box, don't buy this and come back and give it a bad review because it almost made someone like me, who ended up loving it, pass it by...thank god i didn't.

Well produced. Well shot. Well "acted". Very scant on teaching. I had to rewind to make sure I did not somewhat skip the explanation on how or where to aim. No more than 1 sentence is given to the subject. Only useful if you want to learn -in a hurried manner- the name of the elements, and (some of) the rules of 8 and 9 ball. A good DVD pool primer is still missing.

Inexpensive doesn't have to mean "cheap," but in this case it does. First off, the balls delivered do not match the balls pictured in the advertisement. Traditionally each ball's number would be printed in black -- as in the product pictured. But with the product received, in order to (presumably) pinch pennies on dye, the manufacturer printed each ball's number in the same color as the ball. This means each ball only needs to be printed with one color instead of two, but it also makes it hard to read the numbers on the lighter colored balls, and it makes them all look really cheap. What you see is not what you get. Recommend you try another manufacturer.

My husband was VERY pleased with these. He said they work perfect. And the colors are very vivid. Would definately recomend them.

I bought these balls for my children to play carpet pool with. These balls go through some rough times but hold up. I am very satisfied with this product

These billiard balls replaced our old ones and are of a very good quality for a very good price. Better deal than any of our local "discount" stores.

my son enjoys these as he competes and finds no differance from the professional type.

Over the previous 10 years I bought 3 pair of these shoes and loved them, until they "re-designed" the shoe. I sent the fourth pair back because they were impossible to get on and to thight once they were on the foot!...please Ryka redo the design and go back to the old style that older people can wear and get into.

this is an excellant support shoe for water aerobics. I returned the other shoes I ordered. Good fit, great support. I will purchase again.

I have previously worn 3 pair of Ryka aqua shoes. The new model is even better. They are easy to put on and take off and offer support for intense aqua aerobics.

I have had 2 previous pairs of Ryka Hydro shoes and have loved them. They had a very comfortable cut and held up for a very long time, even with all the chlorine. I did have an issue with the last pair losing the end cap on the shoe lace, and that was not really a problem. This new pair - the hydro step crosstraining shoe is not cut as full in the front. It is tight over the top of the foot and harder to get the foot into since the ties are stationary. Even though you can "release" the tension across the top to get your foot in, it is still very hard to do so and then is uncomfortable once it is tightened. I wish they would go back to making the original. I did like the fact that they have more water release holes in the bottom. They should start carrying them in stores so that the customer could try them on before buying. I wear them for the arch support and have been pleased with that.

I was having trouble with my knees doing hydrotraining, but with these shoes, no more knee trouble. They are easy to put on--even in the water--and so lightweight that you don't know you have them on in the water. They also make walking in the water so much easier! I love these shoes and will buy the same identical ones when these wear out. They are so worth the money.
